As brand strategists, we are always interested in studying the role that brand plays in industries going through change. Management consulting is one such industry going through a critical transformation. Over the past few years, the consulting industry has witnessed incredible shifts as firms have re-defined themselves beyond traditional strategy consulting services, broadening the scope of their offering (often through acquisitions) to meet increasing demand for technology and digitization. With such dramatic changes, maintaining clarity in how firms define themselves has become paramount.

With this in mind, we are pleased to announce that DeSantis Breindel is launching a study along with the Association of Management Consulting Firms, to better understand the role that brand plays in this new environment.

The survey is meant for executives within management consulting firms, both big and small. If that fits your description, we’d very much appreciate you taking five minutes of your time to answer some questions about branding in the management consulting industry. Take the survey here. All responses will remain anonymous – but if you would like a copy of the results, please share an email address when prompted and we will send one along.

This survey will inform our next Brand Influence Guide (BIG): Management Consulting. We launched the BIG research series in 2013, with the first-ever comprehensive research study on the role of branding in venture capital. BIG: VC surveyed VC firms, limited partners, and entrepreneurs; this research informed VC marketers and executives of the messages and channels that empower VC firms to connect with their most important stakeholders. The study gained considerable traction in the media, including coverage in the Wall Street Journal, Inc., and Bloomberg TV. Explore the findings here.

BIG: Management Consulting will launch in May 2014. We’re excited to see what this research will teach us about branding within the consulting industry, and to be able to share these findings in a few months!
